Ingredients

  • All-Purpose Flour
  • Granulated Sugar
  • Instant Yeast
  • Salt
  • Whole Milk
  • Eggs
  • Unsalted Butter
  • Dark Chocolate
  • Cocoa Powder
  • Powdered Sugar
  • Ground Cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a stand mixer, combine flour, sugar, yeast, and salt. Add warm milk, eggs, and softened butter; mix until a smooth dough forms. Knead for 8–10 minutes until elastic.
  3. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with plastic wrap or a towel, and let it rise in a warm place for 1–2 hours or until doubled in size.
  4. Roll out the dough into a rectangle (10×16 inches). Prepare the filling by mixing melted butter with chopped chocolate, cocoa powder, powdered sugar, and cinnamon.
  5. Spread the filling evenly over the rolled-out dough and roll tightly from one short end. Slice the log in half lengthwise to expose the layers and twist together.
  6. Place the twisted dough into your greased loaf pan, cover again, and let rise for another 30–45 minutes. Brush with beaten egg before baking.
  7. Bake for about 35–40 minutes until golden brown and puffed up. Let cool for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
